A Chaplaincy at Cornell University
We are a people set apart from most of the University by our religious faith and united with it in our intellectual curiosity and skepticism. We are a people who proclaim the Gospel and are forever questioning its meaning in our worship, our discussions and our collaboration with our sister congregations of Cornell United Religious Work.

Reflecting the diversity, dynamism and flux of our academic setting
We have a special ministry to the University’s students, who come to Cornell from across the nation and around the globe. They represent myriad backgrounds and cultures, and are extraordinarily bright, creative and energetic. They enrich us with new perspectives, help us recognize new challenges and inspire us to service. They go on from Cornell to pursue an astonishing variety of careers and callings in every corner of the world. And many of them go on to seminary and professional ministry in the Church—forty of our students have done so in the last three decades.

We also count among our community University faculty and staff, other full-time residents of Ithaca and their families. They are leading scientists, engineers, scholars and artists. They are writers, teachers, lawyers, business people and community servants. They are grandparents, parents, children and youth. We baptize infants, nurture one another at every stage of life and bury those who have passed from our midst.

We are blessed by the fellowship of those who are with us for only a semester or an academic year and those who have worshipped, prayed and served in our community for many decades.
